It is a very useful antidote to the sort of thinking that insists that the only way to absorb another million people is to widen the freeway and add more low density, car oriented development. It accommodates 5,500 people in one square mile – and 70% of households do not own a car. They get around by walking, cycling and a tram (though there is a car co-op if they need one) …”
