Bicycle Route Planning Tool for Vancouver based on Google Maps
Using a familiar and user-friendly Google Maps interface, the planner allows individuals to choose routes throughout Metro Vancouver based on preferences such as distance, elevation gain, air quality, and areas featuring trees and other vegetation. Users can choose trips that follow city-designated cycle routes only, or trips that include major roads.
The web-based planner (www.cyclevancouver.ubc.ca) has been designed by a team of environmental health researchers at the University of British Columbia in cooperation with TransLink, the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority.
