SunTools for SketchUp is available now

SunTools, a new Plugin for SketchUp is available now.

Plug-in Features:

  • SunPATH: visualization (month and year)
  • SunPOS: Sun Position for a date and time
  • SunVIEW: Axonometric views from the Sun
  • SunPENETRATION: Analyze Sun Penetration/Access in any specific analysis point.

Several features are work in progress or yet to be implemented. I think this is a very promising visulisation tool that helps understand local climate conditions (and is also a similar way Ecotect presents this info)

The plug-in can be downloaded after registration from: http://tx.technion.ac.il/~arrguedi/SunTools/download.html

  1. Definitely looking forward to the next round of upgrades. Especially the periodical shade and solar volume.

  2. Version 2 of the plugin for MAC and Windows is now available for download.

      Hello Guedi,
The download of version 2 is not working for me, it looks like the “agree and submit” button is not working.
      Regards

  3. Check this out: http://www.skelion.net

It is a new PV layout plugin for Google SketchUp that insert the modules for you with just a click. The Pro version generates PVWatts reports as well.

    It is a great tool!

    Regards,
